What personal data I hold about you, where I got it, and how to have it stopped.

Who this is for
Two groups of people, and nothing else: those who joined the waitlist on this site, and tax professionals who received an email from me about VouchDoc. If you are one of them, everything I hold about you is described below — there is no third category.
VouchDoc is not yet open to firms, so there is no product data to describe here: no taxpayer documents, no Social Security numbers, no client records exist. When the product launches it will have its own, separate policy covering that data. How the product is built to protect it is already written up under security & data handling.
Who is responsible
Marco De Pace, an individual developer based in Italy, building VouchDoc alone. There is no company behind this yet — I am the data controller, and there is nobody else to escalate to. Because I am established in the EU, the GDPR applies to how I handle your data even though you are almost certainly in the United States.

If you joined the waitlist
I store your email address, and your firm name if you typed one — that is the whole form. I use them for one thing: to tell you when VouchDoc opens. You gave me this data yourself, so the basis is your consent, and you can withdraw it at any time by replying to any message or writing to support@vouchdoc.com; I delete the entry the same day.
When you submit the form the server also records the IP address it came from, so the form cannot be flooded. It is stored as a keyed hash, not as an address: it lets me count requests and cannot be turned back into your IP. Nothing else about your visit is recorded.
If you received an email from me
You never gave me your details — I went and found them, so you are owed a straight account of what I have and where it came from:

That is the complete list. No financial information, nothing about your clients, nothing bought from a data broker, and nothing about you beyond your working life.
Why I am allowed to write to you
My legitimate interest in reaching solo tax practices about a tool built for them (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). I weighed that against your privacy before starting, and the things that made it come out in favour are commitments, not adjectives: your details were already published by you and by the IRS; I send a handful of messages a day, written one at a time, with a single follow-up and then silence; there are no tracking pixels, no shortened or redirected links, and no profiling, so I genuinely do not know whether you opened anything; and I never share, sell or enrich your data. If any of that stopped being true, the balance would have to be reconsidered.
How to make it stop
Reply with anything that says so — one word is plenty — or write to support@vouchdoc.com. You do not have to give a reason, and I do not get to weigh it against anything: for direct marketing your objection is absolute. I stop the same day.
One thing worth being explicit about: when you object I keep your email address, on a suppression list. That is what guarantees you are not contacted again by a later round — deleting it would make you findable all over again in the same public sources. Everything else about you is deleted. If you would rather I erase the address too, say so and I will, and accept that risk.
How long I keep it
Until the end of 2026 at the latest. If you never reply, the purpose is exhausted and the record goes; a list held on the chance it might be useful someday has no lawful basis. Suppression-list entries are the exception, and they stay for the reason above.
Your rights
You can ask me for a copy of what I hold, correct it, delete it, restrict what I do with it, or object to it entirely. Write to support@vouchdoc.com and I will answer within a month, in practice within a couple of days — there are not many of you and there is only one of me.
If I handle it badly you can complain to a supervisory authority. Mine is the Italian Garante per la protezione dei dati personali; if you live in the EU or the UK you may also complain to your own.
What this site does not do
- No cookies. This site sets none at all — there is no banner because there is nothing to consent to.
- No analytics, no advertising, no third-party scripts. Nothing on these pages calls out to another company, so no one is told that you were here.
- No automated decisions and no profiling of any kind.
- No sale or sharing of your data. The only companies that touch it are the ones running this site and my mailbox: Vercel (hosting), Supabase (the database holding waitlist entries), Resend (the site's automatic email) and Microsoft (my own mailbox, which is where your reply lands). Each operates under a data processing agreement. Nobody else receives any of it — no advertisers, no data brokers, no other founders.
Changes
If this notice changes, the date at the top changes with it. Anything that would affect people already on the outreach list gets an email, not a silent edit.
